Holiday Camps 2014
Maximize the fun of your child’s school holiday breaks by enrolling in our Museum Holiday Camps. Your child can enjoy our fun-filled learning environment, led by our energetic staff, with no weather worries! Holiday camps are designed for and limited to children ages 5 through 8. We encourage parents to send their children with healthy lunches.
Holiday camps are available by the day or by the week. Camp hours are from 8:45 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with Before and After Care available.
Before care is available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. for an additional fee of $7 per day per child. Curbside drop off is provided from 8:45 to 9:00 a.m. After care is available from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. for an additional fee of $12 per day per child.
Thanksgiving Holiday Camp: Healthy Harvest Cooking Camp (11/24-11/26)
Get ready for three days of food and fun! See how your food gets from the farm to your table with hands on activities and lessons. Put on a chef’s hat and make great recipes to share with your friends and family. Learn about healthy food choices from the Museum’s health expert, Stuffee! Playing with your food has never been this fun!
Winter Holiday Camp: Winter Wonderland Camp (12/22 & 12/23)
Head to the Museum for a snowy and wintery camp-New Orleans style! Become a meteorologist for a day and learn about the science behind snowy weather with hands-on experiments. Paint winter landscape portraits and create snowflakes that are uniquely you. Make homemade hot chocolate and enjoy the snow days at LCM!
New Year’s Holiday Camp: International New Year’s Celebration Camp (12/29 & 12/30)
Celebrate 2015 around the world without ever leaving the LCM! Experience New Year’s traditions from different countries with crafts, music, and international foods. Create a Resolutions Jar with your hopes and dreams for the new year. Help make a special decoration to be featured at the Museum’s big New Year’s Eve Kid’s Countdown to Noon celebration. Get ready to make 2015 the best year yet!
